Journal Entry

11 July 2020

4:40 AM (GMT)

I made several attempts to dislodge the item that seemingly was located in the interior of the original box. After a few days, and many hours I was finally able to pull the item from the inside of the box (see photos). What I found was a second box  (Box #2), larger and heavier than the first box (Box #1)!

Type: Solid and comparatively heavier than the first box. It appears to be an antique mahogany apothecary chest.

Period/Location of origin: Second larger box was located within the smaller original box. There are no markings to indicate the year but I expect it to be from the early 19th century.

Appearance:

Exterior - This chest (Box #2) consists of a mahogany case with brass swan neck carrying handle, 4 brass hinges, two doors with two brass escutcheon keyhole plates, a key is required for each. There is an obvious although unmovable back panel.

Interior - The doors open to reveal a selection of bottles with no

labels; the central section holds five large glass bottles with

stoppers, within the two doors there are six medium bottles,

one clear small bottle with a silver top and bottom, and 32 very

small bottles of differing colors. An arrangement of five fitted

drawers are below the center shelf, containing scales, weights,

pestle and mortar, glass bowl, eye dropper, glass bottle

stoppers, and a old quill.

Additional Contents:

1. Strange puzzle pieces –

2. Music (click on photo) – short musical score with illegible words.

(Since I am not proficient in music – perhaps someone can play or

hum this tune for me - send an audio file).

3. A maths problem (click on photo).

Additional notes:

Two “boxes” that defy the laws of physics. Box #1 is larger on the inside than the outside, and Box#2 is obviously and significantly larger on the outside than on the inside.

It’s one of those things you can’t relax with until you’ve discussed it with someone else. I have sent Percy Pandamonium to find Vanessa deVinet (reporter) she must know something about these mysterious items I’ve found.
